Hi, I just found this site and am excited to add POI's since the existing ones are so lacking. I would guess 50% of the places I look for are not in the database. Question; if I download, say a file of POI listings of Holiday Inns, does it override any existing ones or will it duplicate them? Appreciate any help or tips! Thanks!
.
Custom POIs are completely separate (and stay completely separate) from the built in Points of Interest.
Yes you will have
Yes you will have duplicates. The custom pois are located in a different location on the GPS. The advantage of the custom pois will be the ability to add alerts and a more updated file.

Welcome to The Factory, CS!
Hey, I grew up in Mequon (way back when the city had more cows than humans, still had remnants of old fox farms, and a trip into Milwaukee was a big drive!) Cedarburg was alway a nice town and, I think, had the nearest movie theater for my family.

Stick around, you'll learn a lot here. (And if you have Lifetime Maps, you'll hear about the arrival of the next map update here first!)
