I'm going nuts trying to download some POI's. When I try to open a CSV file.....nothing happens. It goes to File Download, I click open.....it goes to Window IE for a second and screen is blank. In addition, I have not seen anything prompting to do anything. I'm sure frustrated over this Garmin. I bought it because of the download feature but can't get it to work. I've gone step by step. HELP!

Which operating system do you have? Windows XP?
Right-click on the file, move the mouse pointer down to Open with and left-click on Choose Program ..... Check the box below the window that says Always use selected program ..... Then find Notepad in the window and double-click (left) on it. The file should open in Notepad now, and forever after.....

Thanks, I'll try that. It's late so will try tomorrow. I'm so confused.....I'm not even sure I have every thing downloaded correctly. I tried to launch POI Loader and nothing happened with that either.

The only thing I can think of is to make sure to turn off your firewall settings (Windows and/or other vendor, ie. Symantec, etc.) before installing the Garmin POI Loader.
XP & POI Loader
No problem here with C330 and loading POI's with POI Loader via PC running XP.
Not being there makes it very difficult to help.
POI Loader should run very nicely on XP if it was downloaded from Garmin site properly !
Make sure you run POI verifier on POI files also - corrects many POI files

I'll try that. I have deleted all Garmin from my PC. Tonight I tried to reinstall the USB drivers.....now that doesn't install correctly. Shouldn't I be able to use the USB CD again? PC was saying Hardware not installed....or something like that.

Thanks for your input. I'm still trying but not successful. This sure irritating. Maybe I'll just use what is already on the Garmin. I don't have MapSource.....is that a problem?
Interesting thing
An interesting thing on my c330 - I loaded a bunch of POI files and other "stuff" I wanted to store on my "non-functional" SD card in the C330 !
My proximity alarms on the C330 POI's were very "iffy" until I removed the SD card - I think the SD card was loading down "Lila" - my C330.
Proximity alerts work all the time now .
Just an observation !
