Finding the author...

If I find that a POI is missing entries, and there is no contact tab for that user, what can I do?

Contact

I would contact Miss POI or Jim and give the information to one of them.

Second and third options

Your next option would be to see if a thread exists for that particular POI and report it there. If not, then send a message to either JM or GlobeTurtle to fix.

When was the last time the POI was updated? It is possible that it has been abandoned. If the POI is no longer being maintained, you could offer to take it over and become the maintainer.

Miss POI

Miss POI has not been with the site for some time now, GlobeTurtle is the "new" moderator.

L&L

So, in that case I should find out the Lat&Long.

The file was updated about 5 weeks ago. (Red Robin)

More info the better

The more info you can find out about a POI, the better. I try to get coordinates if I can so it will be accurate when it is updated. I would also suggest looking at their POI and provide the information they have listed for the other locations to keep consistent.

Good advice. Thanks.

Following the path

When I go to Red Robin
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/3576
and scroll to the bottom, I find that the last edit was "Mar 29, 2012 added Bowie MD (edit by JM)"
implying to me that the maintainer was not active.

When I scroll back to the top and click on the maintainer, I am taken to the profile page.

If I click on the "Track" button, I find that the last activity was an edit to the Red Robin POI file by I already know that the edit was done by JM.

The last forum topic entry was over two years ago.

I checked my profile to see how current the tracking is. It said my last entry was 7 hours and 40 minutes ago (as I write this) and that seemed to be the last entry made (but not by me) to a thread that I last posted in on 5/22.

Ummmmmm

Sorry, I'm not quite sure what your point is, unless "JM" is an equivalent to GlobeTurtle.

No particular point

No particular point - just that JM (as spullis
said above) winds up making changes to orphan POI files. Since JM made the last two changes to the Red Robin file, I assumed it was orphan.

I could have explained that I was just fooling around trying to learn what I could, but I ran out of time as my granddaughters had come to visit.

The rest was just to let people know how one might go about finding out whether a maintainer was not active.

JM is in change of poi-factory and had Globe Turtle as his co-moderator.

Cool

Abandoned POI

I agree, it appears that the POI is abandoned. Enjoy the grandkids!

If you track what the original submitter is doing

http://www.poi-factory.com/user/16834/track

You see he/she hasn't been very active for some time. The Red Robin POI has been edited by others recently. The others are stale (to be kind...).
