I'm pleased to announce that Angela (aka GlobeTurtle) is joining me as a co-moderator for the web site. She's been watching the site for a few weeks and now officially starts assisting with some of the day-to-day responsibilites needed to keep things running smoothly.

As JM mentioned, I have been lurking several times a day for the last few weeks and am quite impressed!

This really is one of the friendliest communities I've seem on the web.
The few, "tiff's" I've witnessed were minor and and I am impressed by the readiness most members have to take responsibility for misunderstandings, make amends if needed and then move on.

My style (for lack of a better term) in moderating seems to be much like JM's in that I trust you are all adults and I assume, as such, you can moderate yourselves.

That's one of the reasons I chose a turtle for part of my screen name.

I expect I will only need to "pop my head out" occasionally to wield the moderator hammer, otherwise I'm planning to just participate, enjoy and learn from this awesome community.

In all honesty, it popped up on a random name generator and made me laugh, so I went with it. smile

My previous avatar was a picture of me in a turtle shell at the Desert History Museum in Tucson, AZ. the shell was designed for kids to crawl into to get their pics taken. I thought it would be fun and the guy I was with suggested I was too "big" to fit, so I had to prove him wrong. razz
I changed my avatar to an actual pic of me to help soothe any member concerns that JM had maybe gone a little nuts trying to run this place on his own and had created an alter ego of himself. razz
