Nuvi 2450 Route Problems
15 years
|
I am a 2450 user and when I download routes from Mapsourse to my Nuvi and turn on the Nuvi the routes go through a calculation. This takes a little time if I have several routes.
But here is the problem. The next time I turn the nuvi on the same maps download from somewhere in my nuvi and then I have anywhere from 2 to 4 copies of the routes I put on the first time. These all go through a calculation and if I am trying to go somewhere it does create a problem.
After the extra routes are on I delete them all but the original ones, one at a time. This is ok for a while but about 3 days of use of the nuvi the routes reload and downloaded and I had to re delete the extras again.
I have now used these routes for 5 days since I deleted the third set of extra downloads and they have not re downloaded. Strange!!
Don't know what I am doing to cause the problem but I am sure it must be me.
Anyone else have this problem?
2450
I take it no one has had any problems with loading routes on the 2450.

Stray GPX files
I don't have one of the newer nuvi's with Trip Planner, so this is just a guess. I assume the route is transferred from Mapsource to the nuvi's Trip Planner via a .GPX file; the same way it is done with the legacy routing engine on the older nuvi's.
Once your route has imported and shows up in Trip Planner, I suggest you plug your nuvi into the computer and delete the .GPX file. You should be able to identify it by the file date.
From everything I have read on this and other forums, the consensus seems to be that Garmin really screwed up with the Trip Planner. Your problem just adds to the list of complaints.

Might work
That might work. I have two older trips in the trip planner and when I was putting these new ones in I could not find where the others are.
I am using Mapsourse just like I did with my 750. These routes were for our trip to California and I don't need them anymore so I will try this to see if they are deleted in the folder and stay in the trip planner.
Thanks
