beside 3590, which model should I consider?

I currently own a 755 and i am looking to update it. i never like the old resistance touch screen and would like a newer more accurate one.

I am ocnsidering the 3590 at 399$ but was wondering what reliable and good other model should I consider?

I don't use at all android apps. But I use route navigation with mapource a lot in order to force certain route on long traject. I use POI files and for the rest, I only want a fast reponsive device with fast display of the maps.

3590

I have only had my 3590 for two days and am really getting to like it. Things I don;t like about it is the routing issue. I have hooked up the unit to the computer and it was found by MapSource so I decided just for laughs to upload a route to the unit. It looked as if it had worked but it was not to be found on the 3590. One thing of interest though was the four way points that I used in the route were now found on the 3590 so it was fairly easy to build the route on the 3590 and save it for later use. There was no problem downloading the route from the 3590 to the computer.

The Junction View feature is nice and I have decided to leave it in the half screen mode as the view stays on the screen until the point is reached. The view pops up .8 from the junction.

I don't think I will be using the android apps as the only thing now offered is at a charge. The same information can be found on the android for free.

I did have to convert my MP3 files to Wav for the POI that I use but that was no problem. I have yet to give that an on the road test as yet.

All in all I am very pleased with the 3590 and it was a replacement to the 750.

thanks

well, i want update as well but I'll probably wait for this model to come cheaper next fall.. smile

3590 routes

Johnju:
Looking at the owners manual, finding routes = Apps>trip planner/ select a saved trip. Hope you have good luck with this pricey unit.

.

I have the 3760LMT and it serves me well. If I were in the market today, I would be interested in the 3490 LMT

Super Review about the 3590

I encourage you to view the excellent and comprehensive review of the 3590 at GPStracklog.com

http://gpstracklog.com/2012/04/garmin-nuvi-3590lmt-review.ht...

That report begins with a brief comparison of several other recent Nuvis (3550, 3490, 2595...all within about one year old), summarizing some of their basic differences. The author also provides a link comparing the features on all recent Nuvis.

Instead of waiting a year or so for 3590 prices to come down significantly (?), familiarize yourself with the recent Nuvi alternatives...and perhaps one of those has a price more attractive than the current $400 for the 3590. [Note: after about 6 months, the 3490 has only come down about $30-40.]

I bought the 3590 because I had some gift money I wanted to use up...and just wanted to upgrade from my Nuvi 855. Had this new unit for only 2 weeks, but so far am really impressed; it goes far beyond most of the things I loved on my old unit. But I also know that the 2595 has most of the same important features (5" screen, Lifetime Maps and Traffic, new Garmin Search functions, and Voice Command) as the 3590, as well as many of the lesser features. Read the above detailed report to better understand what the 3590 has that makes its price the highest in the Nuvi line.

While at GPStracklog, also be sure to read Rich Owings other detailed REVIEWS on the other Nuvis listed above.

I have both

the 2595LMT and the 3790LMT and I like both of them. Great GPSr, The reason I bought the 2595LMT was because I needed the 5 inch screen. The old eyes are not as good as they use to be.
