poi frustration

Hi ,i like to tell you about my problems creating my own pois.I own a garmin sp 2720 and i had been trying to use notepad to create my first poi file ,i tried and tried and i coudnt doit, so i had to ask for help and i use "my boddylist " from the forum.I emailed JM and Raybonz and they gave me directions step by step i was trying to save my file as csv format it will always turn into a text file,it was almost useless i couldnt doit so they suggested to create my pois using "create content" from the forum ,which i tried and it worked. But i still wanted to use notepad finally one day by accident i noted that i had poi loader and poi loader beta which i had upgreted so i deleted the older version and kept the newer poi beta.I tried creating my first poi file and finally success i had done it my very first file.I think having the two poi versions wouldnt allow me to turn notepad files into csv and will allways turn into text file. I could see the file next to the files i had downloaded from this forum but when i used poi loaded it didnt load them. Im so happy is over took alot of time to get it done but i hope this information will help someone .I want to thank "Jonathan Melby" and "Raybons" for taking their time to help me.

CSV itself is a text file. CSV stands for Comma Separated Values. Usually the CSV file has a particular format for the particular brand of GPS and you can open a CSV file with any text editor in any OS and edit and save it.

You can also take a look at the POI verifier, posted on this web site and check the validity of your newly created file.

You use a free software, called POIEditor to check and track your POIs.

Here is how it would look like in the editor:
-118.60404, 34.16846, "21911 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills, CA 91364" (this is supposed to be onle line -- no wraps)

And this is just a pure example of an address...

Have fun.
