Patch cord to charge and transfer data

I recently purchased a Garmin Nuvi 3790LMT upgrading from a Nuvi 750. I would like to use the cord from the 750 and was wondering if a mini to micro patchcord was available that would both charge and handle data to the 3790.

I also have an ac adaptor for the 750 can the same cord, if availble be used with it. Thank you.

.

Google "mini-b to micro" and you'll come up with a ton of results.

Use Your Powered Cradle

If you have the garmin AC charger you can connect it to your 3790's power cradle and you should be able to use the Nuvi in your home without using battery power. I'm not 100% certain, but I do believe the 3790's connector on the power cradle is a mini USB, the same connector that is on the end of the Garmin AC charger.

I do it all the time on my 2460LMT.
I use a bean bag, I mount the cradle on the bean bag, connect the AC charger to the cradle and I can play with it on my desk to my hearts content.

Edited: Sorry misread your post.
Note: You will NOT be able to transfer data since you need to be connected to the computer for that.

By the way you don't need to connect AC to run simulation on the 2460 just an old USB to mini (not micro) connect to the back of the craddle right of the PC

Thanks for the tip, works good and the longer chord is helpful, the 18" USB data cable that came with the 2460 is really cutting corners to save costs.
Wonder if the charge rate is faster using the AC charger chord.

Some people mentioned they no longer receive the "charging complete" message on the newer units.
My 2460 does display it whether attached to the 110v wall charger or connecting it to the computer via the method you suggested.

You may want to check out monoprice.com. Slightly cheaper prices.

I second monoprice!

Always good service. I've ordered a ton of stuff from there and they've almost never screwed up and corrected any errors quickly.

Monoprice

I'v been buying cables from Monoprice.com for years, never had a problem, quality cables and excellent prices. People who buy Monster Cables really are getting the shaft, way overpriced.

I love Monoprice, because a 12' HDMI cable is ridiculous at $99 and up. $10-15 is a lot more reasonable. They're best though for unusual cables, such as a DVI to HDMI cable for connecting a desktop computer to a TV.
