Garmin Express v7.29.3 for Mac is available for download.
Fixes 2 problems:
- Fixed an issue with Garmin Express failing to install for users who upgraded their macOS to 27.
- Fixed a sync failure issue with the Fenix 9.

six years...
Even with this "update" Garmin are still relying on Rosetta 2's translation layer to run Garmin Express (GE) on Apple Silicon since GE is still a native Intel app. Basically, all this update did was fix the inability to install the app on Apple Silicon running macOS 27. According to users at the Garmin forums, it's still broken for ($1,000 plus) Fenix 9 users.
They have had six years since Apple Silicon was introduced to get GE converted to native Apple silicon to avoid this issue. Rosetta 2 will no longer be an option with macOS 28 as GE will simply NOT run without Rosetta 2.
One should read the Garmin forums...people are NOT happy. I know I wouldn't be. I use Mac as well as PC but run pretty much all my Garmin stuff on Windows.
Garmin's software is simply horrible. I really don't know how they constantly get away with this. Their "not enough (software) resources" excuse is getting old. Maybe if they didn't have hundreds of different watches, trolling motors, speakers, horse health monitors and whatever else they have decided on "doing", they wouldn't be in this mess. And yet they continue to add onto the pile and seemingly ignore what needs to be done as far as fixing things go.
But with Garmin, the aviation division is first priority...even though hiker's lives may also depend on their buggy and crashing handheld devices.

It also introduces two new bugs.
If you upgrade to MacOS 27 and update to the latest Garmin Express, you still get the warning for Rosetta but also, under each GPS unit, you'll no longer be able to use the tools (transfer saved places back and forth, install other languages, etc.) or purchase any extras (really, just the Red Light / Speed cameras). The buttons no longer work with this combination of Garmin Express and MacOS 27.
I agree with the above. They're 6 years in on this. I'd get it if it were still 2020/COVID/Apple silicon still new/etc.
Thanks
Updated without problem.
