Features?

cool

The 765 is the last model loaded with all of the best features, so why change? ALL of the new models lack something I need...

It's really a matter of choice or features.

Love my 765

I don't have a 765, I have the 760 and it's getting very long in the tooth. While it's still a good performer, I'd like to move on up.

765

Have had very good luck with my 765, has a lot of features, when it craps out I'm not sure what I will get

Love my 765

Me too!

Recently got a 2350LMT which is nice, but several times it has given us some really crazy directions to our destinations that would take us miles out of our way. The 765T never did that.

765T

Here also, has been the best automotive GPS I have had (and still have and use daily)

I guess what I'm really

I guess what I'm really asking is, "What is the next logical progression?" What unit in the current new lineup is the next logical progression after the 765?

I agree that the units I mentioned are all good units, however all have been discontinued.

2460

I went from the 660/680 to the larger screen 2460. Don't need mp3, don't need to show pictures. Just want it to show me where I'm going!

--
Nuvi 2460, 680, DATUM Tymserve 2100, Trimble Thunderbolt, Ham radio, Macintosh, Linux, Windows

Check The Garmin Site

Go the Garmin site and do a comparison of the newer units, this will show their features. Select the one that best suits your personal needs. Then do a search for reviews on that particular model. Here you will learn what current owners have to say about it.
That's the best advice I am able to offer.
Best of luck in whatever you decide.

Never had a problem with mine, either, though it's been discontinued.

That's my philosophy. I don't want a multitaking unit that is a mediocre GPS. I want a very good GPS. I have Sat radio for music and a laptop/tablet/smartphone for pictures.

760

I really like my 760 but these days I mostly use the map only. I want to know the street I'm on and cross streets to appear as they come up. If the 760 did this, I wouldn't want to get a new one. I'm looking at getting the nuvi 2595.

My 765T...

is like an old pal, never lets you down, and is always there when you need him.

I also own the 775T, but never use it, but keep it up to date just the same. I bought it because of the maps of Europe, which I need when I go there. As fate would have lt, we found it necessary to cancel our cruise to Europe planned for September, because my knee gave out, and must be replaced. S--t!!

"Backward, turn backward, oh time in your flight, make me a child again, just for tonight."

660=Happiness

My 660 is configured nicely, has the POI's I want, and is working beautifully.....

I'm staying with the 660

A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

I still like my 765t

I like my 765t! It has everything I like in a GPS. The lane assist is the best part. Saved my butt more than once! The mp3 player is useless to me, but it does play alerts in mp3 format, at smaller file sizes. I just assume have it in .wav format even if the file size is larger. Using sox.exe is no sweat tho.

Unless you are the lead sled dog, the view never changes. I is retard... every day is Saturday! I still use the Garmin 3590 LMT even tho I upgraded to the Garmin 61 LMT. Bigger screen is not always better in my opinion.

No reason for progressionn

I don't see any reason for the progression. I started with the 760 and, when it was lost/stolen, I replaced it with another 760. None of the newer devices really meet all of my needs. Sure, the 765 would work for me as well but why swap one obsolete model for another obsolete mode. I remember the 765 having some issues that the 760 never had. I dread ever having to change to another device because none of them do what I want. The 760 plays my audio books and can play through the car stereo when I listen to the books. On my old car I use the FM transmitter and, while it's not the best, it works quite well for me most of the time. In the newer car I just plug the audio out port into the audio in port of the car.

None of the newer models can do this stuff. Why would I want to change?

GPSMAP 76CSx - nüvi 760 - nüvi 200 - GPSMAP 78S

I've had 660 for 3+ yrs

And it worked fine but I got a 3790 for a good price and have learned to really like it. I especially like the clarity of the screen and the size. The 660 was to bulky, this is lighter than my Droid X. Lane assist and speed indicator are great. I am learning new things it'll do all the time. Worth the money to change.

765

great unit, load up the sd card with music or an audio book and listen to it , alerts interrupt it. great unit, maybe garmin will add the features to another unit.

.

I recommend the 3760 - I like it for the compactness, graphics resolution and the map features - don't need mp3 just the map features.

You can't go wrong with the 2460. I have had a
2460 for just about a year now. Have used it
in San Antonio, Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles,
San Diego and it has been great.
