I'm building a POI file that contains all of the boating port/dock/marina along with contact information throught the world.

Any information that can lead me to the data is appreciated. I don't care the format, I can convert most data.

Just who would use such a file? Do you anticipate both sea and fresh water facilities? It would seem to me that information would already be on various navigation charts for the various waters, many of which are available electronically already.
