transferring POI error messages

http://s184.photobucket.com/albums/x101/soberbyker/POI%20err...

When transferring POI files to my GPS via the Garmin POI uploader I've been getting some error messages as can be seen at the link above. Not sure if they are important, what they mean or who to let know so I posted them here.

Maybe someone here can help out?

Who made those files or where did you get them from?

Troubleshooting help

Can we determine if these errors are tied to a specific version of POI Loader?

Next, it would be really helpful if someone take a peek inside the files and figure out what issue(s) are triggering the errors. Then, I may be able to add some code to screen or filter for the errors.

Thanks,

Jonathan

The files came from this

The files came from this site and the file name appears on the screen shot of each message, every time I upload new POI's I get these messages again as I just add new POIs to my current list. I was new here when I first uploaded them and didn't pay much attention to the messages.

I must download a new POI loader each time, my most recent claims Nov. 3, 2011 as the created on date (via "properties")but that changes each time I use it.

The creation of POI's is new to me and I don't know much. I'll try to answer any other questions you have though.

Zoos USA and Canada

has a quote in the lon field on line 27 and 42. After cleaning those up it passed the verifier and loaded fine in POI Loader 2.7.0

Running POI Loader

Describe exactly how you start up POI Loader each time you use it.

It sounds to me like you are running the POI Loader installation program each time instead of running the actual POI Loader. It will seem to work because the actual program will be automatically called up at the end of the installation process. But it is not the right way to start up POI Loader.

Considering the paths to the files shown in your pictures, you must be using either Windows Vista or Windows 7, so you can run POI Loader properly for sure by going to the Start button, All Programs, click on Garmin and then POI Loader.

BTW as soon as POI Loader starts up, click on the little icon in the upper left of the POI Loader window, click on "About POI Loader…" and tell us which version is shown.

nope ...

I'm running Windows 7, I am not running the set up each time, I have the POI Loader icon pinned to the start menu, but to be sure I loaded the POI loader via your suggestion and the way I normally do, both came up with 2.7.0.0 as can be seen here:
