Need help 2460LMT

I have a 2450LM and cannot find the file...don't know what I would do if I found it...Several people on the site are concerned about it. What would you do if you found it...don't think you can on the 24XX series...

There are numerous forums on this site talking about the jcv fiile. A search will bring them all up. I am not going to search all of them for your specific question.

I believe that the jcv file for your unit is in the .system folder which is hidden. You would have to unhide the file in your folder options in your computer.

I don't know for sure but I don't think they are there... I tried it and couldn't find it. Why is anyone interested in the folder anyway?

You have to have your folder options set to show hidden files and folders to see the map and jcv.

Then look under the .system folder in to see them.

Doing this from memory so hope this is correct.

With your Nuvi 2450 it may not effect you since you have 4GB of internal memory.
Other units with less memory (2GB) it can be a concern.
If your unit has Junction View capability, when you do a map update and you don't have enough internal memory, Garmin will substitute a smaller JCV file that has less Junction Views.

Remember ALL JCV files must be the ones that correspond with the map, using an older JCV file with a newer map will not work.

Are you sure when you clicked on properties in Windows Explorer you clicked on the drive letter and not just a sub directory?
