Spots on GPS frame.

Hello.

I have my 765t since shortly it came out and it has served me well and I want to keep it a while longer. I noticed some yellow spots on the frame now. I tried to clean then off with some alcohol but it didn't work. Did this happened to anybody and did you find a way to clean them up?
Thanks to all replies.

i haven't seen

any spots on the frame around my unit. Could they be somewhere the frame rubs the cradle or cord?

I wouldn't obsess too much

I wouldn't obsess too much over the yellow spots. More than likely the color coat Garmin used on the frame rubbed off in those spots and what you're seeing is the base color of the plastic. You'd have to do a heck of a lot to actually wear through the plastic, but if you really feel the need to touch up those areas, a dab of plastic model paint in the proper color should be sufficient.

As an aside, I've had my 200W for quite some time now and the silver color on the 200W shell has worn away at the points where the GPS attaches to the mount. I eventually want to do one of two things: replace the shell with a 250W shell (since I like basic black for my tech), or find a way to remove the remaining silver coloring from the shell, leaving the base gray beneath it.

Now that you mentioned it I

Now that you mentioned it I had a closer look and think they are rub spots. Thanks for the tip about the plastic paint.
