Things broken after 2012.30

Voice Recognition before the update was working as good as we can expect considering the device doesn’t have a training process, now there are a bunch of things wrong with it.

Starting with:
Find Address, Find Intersection, or Find City gives a message ”This feature is not available for United States” it worked before update.

Find by Name: Doesn’t recognize anything thing I say but it did before the update.

Find by Category and Recently Found: Are OK working as before the update.

Will be calling Garmin and see what they say.

Called Garmin and told the lady the problem I was having with tn JCV file in last night download and she asked me to do the download again but this time using option 2 (garmin map Update app), while this was started I mentioned the problem with Voice Recognition, she indicated that it may be related to a faulty download.

Yesterday it took me almost 12 hours, today less than 1hr, JCV file is there now and Voice Recognition is working as good as it did prior to yesterday's download.

I will be removing the garmin Lifetime Updater and in the future will go the option #2 route.

Try running Webupdater and see if anything new gets installed to the device. After that try downloading ang installing the maps again. You might have had a corrupt install.
