Garmin map file(s) for Central America

There's maps for North America (City Navigator® North America NT) and maps for South America (City Navigator® South America NT and )... but are there maps for Central America?

Any suggestions for Belize, Costa Rica, etc?

Garmin Maps for Central America

Look here for free maps. They are not very large but are routable and are already in the gmapsupp.img format. http://www.osmmaps.com/

Check out this site. You can "make" your own. I use one for trip planning in Germany, Austria and Hungary.

It's funny that this topic came up. Central America is considered (geologically) part of North America, so I should add these maps to my device. smile

seems like it is a gap in the map coverage... Garmin should add a Central American option.

Garmin could produce such

Garmin could produce such maps, but Navteq doesn't cover Central America, which makes it difficult for Garmin to offer Central America. That is why companies such as BiciMaps can charge $159 USD for a complete map of Central America. That's the cheap one. GPS TravelMaps will happily sell you all of Central America for $250.
