Nuvi 1450 -- Problem Getting Attached Sound Files for Redlight Cameras to Play

When I approach a Red Light Camera, my Nuvi 1450LMT makes a double chime and a little grey rectangle appears on the map with "RLC Camera Alert". I would like to have a voice announcement rather than the double-chime, so I downloaded a suitable MP3 file, renamed the file to exactly the name of the Redlight-Camera.CSV (Redlight-Camera.MP3) and reloaded it using the latest Garmin POI Loader (2.7.0.0). It runs for a moment and displays, "Congratulations! You have loaded..." But when I approach a redlight camera, the device merely double-chimes and displays the little grey rectangle. If I set the alert to "continuous", it then double-chimes repeatedly (which is a little better) but I really want a voice alert. I must be doing something fundamentally wrong, but I'm at a loss and need the help of an expert. Thanks.

No mp3 for the 1450

Your 1450LMT can not handle mp3 audio. But all is not lost as you can use wav audio files instead. See the faq for the procedure and to download the correct version of sox.exe to let your nuvi speak of upcoming red light cameras:

Do not substitute a new version of sox.exe as it won't work with POI Loader. You must use sox version 14.0.1.

PS--your old nuvi 660s could play mp3 audio, by the way.

No mp3 player

Your model is here.

There is no mp3 file so therefore you need to use a wav file and sox.exe.
Go to this location to get the info on wav and sox.

Nuvi 1450 -- Problem Getting Attached Sound Files for Redlight C

Thanx CraigW, I downloaded SOX and placed it in the requisite folder, then I used Adobe Audition to convert the MP3 files to 44100/16 Bit/Mono PCM wave (WAV) files, ran the POI Loader and voila!

Who'da thunk that a more RECENT version of a Garmin navigator would have LESS capability! But, then again, I almost never used the MP3 player in my 660 -- maybe they thought the same when they designed the 1450. But how much does it cost to extend the OS to take MP3 files? sigh

Thanks again for the quick response.

@MarkZiemba

Glad you got it resolved. Wish they were all that easy.
