How did you managed, no A/C no Fridge, no PC, no TV?

Back in the late 80s we had a bad cold snap in Tampa and we lost power for 3 days, what saved us was the kerosene heaters we brought with us when we moved south, we use them for cooking and heat.

Hi all

Hi all

electric

A couple of years ago a summer strom knocked out power for 3 days. No tv and no fridge. So I got me one of those Honda inverter generators. Works great and so far has prevented me from needing one. Ain't that the way it goes.

I lost power then too

My power was out for about 3 days a couple falls back too due to a big wind storm. I was OK because I went to work and had power, internet and a/c. My wife and daughter got to stay home with nothing smile. That's when I found out that I was not on a priority circuit. Folks up the road a quarter mile away had power restored within hours.

We lost power Saturday and

We lost power Saturday and the neighbors with odd numbers got power back Sunday night. We the even numbers got it today.

All that wind put a lot of trash in the yard and the gutters. I was really worried for a while. We just put a new roof on and siding for trim work in August. I could just see it flying in the wind. They done a good job. Didn't lose anything.

Long weekend is here!

Long weekend is here!

Go Tigers !

College and pro football are getting started. Major league baseball is into its final month.

Since my Detroit Tigers are still in the pennant chase, I will remain focused on baseball (over football) until they are eliminated.

Hi

Hi

feel the power

My part of Connecticut just got back power Fri night after it went out last Sunday morning. Inconvenient for sure, but folks have it much worse than we do...glad to be back online!

Miami, FL

Flew to Miami and brought my Garmin to use with a rental car. Somehow it kept refusing to offer me the highways, insisting on streets with lots of traffic lights. I have no settings preventing highways, toll roads, nothing. At the end of the second day it finally started to consider highways for the same route (hotel to our destination and vice-versa)!! Strange behavior.

That's where I'm from. grin Haven't been back there since the early 2000's. My old neighborhoods sure had changed a lot from what I remembered as a kid growing up. shock

Mr. Mom :)

MaryAnn probably mentioned that we have two daughters. Today I arranged a play date with a couple of their friends, and they worked on sewing projects. Lots of thread, fabric paint, and ribbons; it was quite a creative process.

I mostly just made sure they had all of the supplies, and the kids took it from there. It was a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon this labor day weekend smile

Hope ya all are having a good weekend too.
