Duplicate POIs on Garmin Nuvi with POI Factory custom POI file?

I'm new to POI Factory and I was wondering if multiple duplicate POIs are created when you add custom POI files from POI factory? I've not yet downloaded and installed one of these to my 2460LMT because my concern is that when I search for a POI I will see duplicates of a bunch of them (WalMart, Subway, Target, etc.). Is this the case and is there a way to prevent duplicates? Do the custom POIs appear in just the same way that the built-in Garmin POIs appear under Where To? Points of Interest, etc?

The POI loaded from here appear under "Where To? / Extras / Custom POIs"
Custom POIs in no way affect the installed POIs from Garmin.
The custom POIs from this site are by far more accurate than the Garmin POIs.
You can add alerts to the POIs here to let you know when you are approaching one with custom sounds and icons.

Yes you will get duplicates for pois if you have same file for custom pois and also in the internal pois.Most cases the custom pois will be more up to date then the internal ones if the custom poi file is being maintained.
Searching the custom pois and internal pois require different process for both.In other words for example searching custom pois for Cracker Barrel will only show the ones you have custom pois for.The internal ones will not be included.Same when searching internal pois it will not include the custom ones.

Since you are new you may want to do a couple of the Beginner Exercises. To make it easy, when you click on the first link below, hold down the "Cntl" key as you left-click. That will open a new "Tab" in your browser in the "Tab" bar. Click on that 'Tab" to do the first exercise - leaving the "Tab" you are now reading open and available to click on and return here.
