I'm really confused (location of the jcv file)

about the location of the jcv file. I've looked in the Garmin folder and all that's in it is garmindevice.xml and lex package. So were is this file? I'm using an imac with snow leopard. So if anyone can help me see the file that I don't see thank you.

There are numerous posts regarding this file. It is only on those units that have junction view.
I have seen referance to it being in the .system folder as well as Garmin/jvc folder.

What Garmin device do you have? If you let us know that, we can tell you exactly where it resides.

JCV File

I have a 3790lmt. I can't find the jcv file either.

On my 765T

On my 765T, the .jcv files (one of them is .SUM) are in the "Nuvi"\Garmin\JCV folder

JCV file

The JCV file on my 3760 is in the Nuvi\.System\JCV folder.

Edit: Properties shows it to be 97.2 MB.

1450lmt

is the model excuse me for not adding that large bit of information. I've read what everyone has said and what is on several other sites and using the mac it doesn't list the files in the folders corresponding to jcv files. I saw it once for a split instance because I had never seen it before and I haven't since. It was in New Orleans when I did see the junction view. I just wanted to see what mine was like is all and to try putting the maps on a micro SD card.

My ".System" folder is not in the "Garmin" sub folder.

When I hook my 3760 to the computer and the Garmin Nuvi window appears, there is a ".System" folder in the window, located just above the "Garmin" folder. The JCV folder is in that ".System" folder.

New USA Map file On microSD Card

All, great information. I will be coming to the USA at the end of the month on vacation. I will need to add the maps via my microSD card, can you let me know which files I need for to ensure that the 3d and junction views will operate correctly.

Thank you in anticipation!

2450

mgarledge - Are you using a 2450LM? I have one that is showing currently:
D3191010A.JCV 243,431KB right now (before the 2012.2.

Thought I would check before I took the plunge.

2450LM JCV Larger

I went ahead and took the plunge and installed the new update.

Details:
Previously: Installed US and Canada maps
D3191010A.JCV 243,432KB (on version 2012.1)

Installed the 2012.2 version (just US maps this time - not sure if it made a difference or not)
D3191020A.JCV 457,055KB

Scott

Sorry

Sorry for not seeing your question sooner. Yes, my Nuvi is 2450LM. I install all the maps offered, so you probably would have received the same JV. if you install everything.

My post on 8/6 showed I had the 243 jv with the 2012.1. Looks like the made our jv larger this time.
