Base Camp update

There is a new version of Base Camp out. It fixed a problem I was having connecting my 76CSx to it. It still has the note "Base Camp does not work with Serial units."

Serial units

I don't know if you realize this but that means the old RS-232 serial connection that used a D9 plug at the computer end of the cable and a special plug on the other end that was used on the original Etrex and Etrex Legend units.

Edit: I looked at the manual and see that your unit is capable of hooking up both ways (Rs-232 or USB) so I guess you knew that already. smile

So does Basemap connect now with the RS-232? If so I can use it with my old Etrex units again.

Don't think so.

The note is still there about not connecting to Serial. I connect USB.

Thanks, from your first post I was not sure how you were connecting your unit.

I knew that 3.2.1 did not work with the old serial port and I thought you may have been saying that they had fixed that but had left on the note.

In the meantime I tried the new Basecamp 3.2.2 version with my Etrex and true to the note, the old serial connection does not work.

3.2.1 errors

3.2.1 did not connect to my 76CSx. 3.2.2 does. yea!!!
