Tim Hortons POI Gone... I NEED MY COFFEE!!!

Okay, so most probably know poifriend.com shut down on June 30th and it's who Tim Hortons had partnered with to supply the POI file for all the Tim Hortons locations in Canada and the U.S. All downloadable from the Tim Hortons website and it was awesome! Well, now that poifriend shut down, Tim Hortons has changed their marketing to work with Apple and BlackBerry with an app to work with the maps from each of these smartphone providers.

The problem is that I want the POI file for my GPS in my truck and don't want to constantly be... pulling over wink to find the Timmies locations on my phone.

So, is there anyone out there who knows how to still make a POI file for Garmin with any data from Tim Hortons smartphone app, or anyone with a link to the most recent Timmies POI file before the system went defunct? Or any other options left to get the Timmies POI? Help, I'm getting the gitters... I need my Timmies! grin

Tim's coffee is good because they use 18% cream.

I don't use cream in my coffee. I don't like Starbucks because they use burnt beans. If by chance I end up getting a cup I will put Lots of Cream and Sugar to rid me of the bitter bean taste. Timmy's is good Coffee...no Cream...no Sugar. smile

War on Timmies

(Oh yes. Let's just say there's a small "Timmie's Addict Rehab" going here; call it a legacy of lots of 'em being relatively close when Wendy's owned Tim Hortons. I am personally convinced they put something in their coffee and the Timbits in particular that would be considered a Schedule II addicting substance in the States grin)

Shhh! Or next thing you know there'll be a whole new "War On Timmies!"

That should be good for a few votes in Iowa? smile

me too

I stopped using sugar long ago, after realizing there was zero hope I'd ever be sweet...

Since you say that you see wal*Marts (and I am assuming the .bmp file from http://www.poi-factory.com/node/3945, http://www.poi-factory.com/node/21190, http://www.poi-factory.com/node/8288, or http://www.poi-factory.com/node/12702), you must have the Walmart POI file and the .bmp named the same character string to the left of the .csv and .bmp extensions.

You need to do the same with Timmy's. The icons are at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/4220, http://www.poi-factory.com/node/5636, or http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25976.

Both the Tim Horton .csv and .bmp file must be in the same folder to which you point POI Loader when you put the custom POI files on your device.

If I have mis-interpreted the problem, get back to us.

seeing how he is a newbie

Seeing as how the OP is a newbie, he probably has no idea what you are talking about.

@Fergus

Click on the learn tab and read how to add custom POI to your unit. JGermann has written some excellent tutorials on the steps needed to add POI to your TND. If you still have questions, check back and we'll help you with any steps that aren't clear.
