Does anyone know how to delete phone names/numbers from "most recent list" when a phone is connected via bluetooth?
Before everyone asks, my phone is clear of all dialed/received calls, call history, etc. Problem is old obolete numbers keep showing up when I view "recent calls" via the GPS.

I would do a hard reset

I looked on Garmin and found this
How do I remove phonebook contacts on my Garmin while connected via Bluetooth?

If you wish to delete phonebook entries from the device when paired via Bluetooth, you will need to delete the phonebook entries from the phone itself. Please consult the owner's manual for your particular phone for instructions on how to delete a phonebook entry.
Once you have deleted the phonebook entries from your phone, you will need to remove the pairing history from the device.
To delete the pairing history:
1.Touch Tools (wrench icon)*
2.Touch Settings
3.Touch Bluetooth (may need to touch the down arrow)
4.Touch Change
5.Touch the device you wish to remove
6.Touch Remove
7.Touch Yes
Once you have deleted the pairing history you will want to need to pair the phone back up to the device. Each time the phone and device are paired via bluetooth the phone sends over an updated phonebook. For instructions on how to connect a bluetooth phone to our devices, visit the following article: How do I pair my Bluetooth phone with my Bluetooth-enabled GPS?
*Note - Some devices only require touching Settings (wrench icon) from the Main Menu

This seems to imply that pair and re-pairing of your phone (which has been cleaned of entries) might work without the need for a hard reset (which probably will work).
Also explains other problems
There have been many posts with users not getting a phonebook after pairing. According to this information if the phone does not paired correctly and doesn't see the phone book it never will on any connections on the current pairing.
So ..
Unpair and pair again would be the first possible step to correcting the no phonebook problem. After that if you still don't get the phonebook the problem would seem to be during the pairing process.
I wonder if this also holds true if you add names to the phonebook. Will it see the added names on the next connection or do you have to unpair and pair again?
Thanks for the info jgermann. It's something to keep in the back of one's mind. I have also found deleting the pairing info from GPS and also the phone has helped me in the past.

My opinion....
I personally think Garmin blue tooth units are a joke. I have had two of them and neither worked properly all the time. Using a bluetooth headset is the only way to go and you can use it all the time and have no problems connecting....It isn't the phones that are a problem it is the Garmin units...

I would agree.
The Garmin BT connection is a basic, and very limited way to connect. Even the cheaper headsets do a far better job of handling the communication duties, and do it with better sound on both ends of the (private) conversation.
I can use the speakerphone option in a pinch, and do the same as the Garmin.

I also don't like Garmin's implementation of Bluetooth and bought a good speakerphone for use in my car. This only downloads the phonebook once, so if I do updates, I need to reload a phone book. It's probably not so much Garmin as it is a "hole" in the programming of the devices.
Besides, when would you have the unit look for an update to the phone book? Remember, the larger the phone book, the longer the download time.

What I was saying is, I just use my Motorola headset with the phone, and forget about the nuvi period. And, should my headset run out of juice, I can use the speakerphone on the phone itself.

Thank You
Breat Comments ....but
While the comments regarding teh headsets are valid, it does not alter the fact that by connecting the nuvi bluetooth, you can call the POIs directly without dialing the individual numbers...imho a great feature!

Calling POI's
Yep, it IS a great feature. Now if Garmin would just train the nuvi to pair with a BT headset, it would be awesome.
It would be simpler to do then a million phones.
