I'm a GPS novice. How to I move any of these files into a Magellan 2200T?

Thanks... I'll try that. I'm sitting here laughing at the fact that with a $4 map, I'd know right where I am! haha

Okay....

I can't get the file editor to read the excel file that lists the Harley Dealerships. It keeps saying I need NAME/LAT/LON in marked fields. They ARE in marked fields, but it will not read them.

Ok, my disclaimer is that I don't know anything about the Magellans, but if it's asking for NAME/LAT/LON, you might need to change the order of the columns in the POI file.

For Garmin units, the POI files are arranged LON/LAT/NAME. Try opening it in Excel and rearranging the columns.

Welcopme to the club. I don't know anything about Magellans either... but with your help.. a little luck... and some some not-so-clean living... It worked! I got the synch! Thanks MM.

Now... can anyone tell me if I can synch this bad boy up with Microsoft Streets and trips? I'm guessing not... but the worst I can get is "no."

What do you mean by 'synch'?

What do you mean by 'synch'?

Do you mean transfer data? My guess is no.

Do you mean have the unit transfer it's positional data to S&T? Again, my guess is no for 2 reasons. First of all most of the newer auto units don't support the NMEA protocol to transfer information.

And S&T, I believe, only supports units on serial ports not on USB.
