garmin 1450LMT problem with poi

Got something here I don't understand. Garmin 1450lmt just out of box. been loading poi from factory. When I loaded camping sites by states I can not get the gps to let me GO to the site.. Sees it,, Give info etc, but not able to GO.

Heres what I did, Wanted Camping facilites alpha by state. Took NY, NJ to Maine amd called it CP 1 folder including those states, All CSV files Gp 2 was Cp 2 Pa, VA W Va etc. The Gps apparently is not able to do the GOTO program. Just info only.

IF I break out each CSV file and list um then it works but will not be alpha..

Anybody with info would be greatly apprciated. Xp system puter. Yes I hae POI loader installed

Confusion

To craigf from CraigW!

I'm not quite sure what you're doing but it sounds like you've loaded Custom POIs from here at The Factory and are trying to arrange a route to a location in one of the custom POI files, although how you're trying to go there confuses me.

Custom POIs don't work like the POIs that are built into the map you have installed.

The only way to route yourself to a Custom POI is to touch WhereTo/Extras/CustomPOIs, then select the file that contains the POI you're trying to find. You will be given a choice of selecting any of the closest 50 locations in that POI file with the closest listed first. Custom POIs are not listed alphabetically. You can also spell a location out to show it. Once your desired location is shown, touch it and you'll be given the option to GoTo it, see it on a map, etc. But you first need to find and select the location desired (either in terms of the the list of the closest 50 or by typing its name in from the specific Custom POI choice first selected) to be given the "Go" button to touch to create a route to it.

If I misunderstood your post, please correct me and we'll try again--or someone else will beat me to it.

darn pois

I was a thinking to get the campgrounds in alpa order by state so if I want to select N.C. when heading N. it will show up easily. But the problem it turned out to be was the number in front of the csv file garmin did not like that at all.

I may be thining wrong. For instance Abbots Ice cream. I can click abbots and then find the one I want in relation to closest to me. Same for campgroudns by state.

I am use to garmin 4208 chartplotter and you point to a spot you want and say go to. Name it if you want and you are off. I think I am trying to run this the same way.

Will all those pois show in chart anyways

Categories for custom pois.

Have you thought about doing categories for your custom pois? This will give you some order to your files.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 .Not sure if this is what you are after.Have a category for Campgrounds and in that folder put your campgrounds by state.Example.

My Pois=Main Folder

Campgrounds=Subfolder
NC Campgrounds.csv
SC Campgrounds.csv
VA Campgrounds.csv

When you click on one of the csv files by state it is going to show the closest 50 to you.

NEAR Button or Tab

If you are navigation mode on the 1450 you can select "Where To?" then select the NEAR tab or button. From there select "Along my Route". Then when you go to your campgrounds POI file under "Extras / Custom POIs" to select a campground, it will only show campgrounds ahead of you on the route.

You can also select "NEAR / at my Destination" to find campgrounds near the end of your route.
