Ever have this happen?

Last night about 10pm I heard a voice coming from my home office. It said--"Please drive the highlighted route"

My Nuvi 855NA came on by itself and announced the route that I had installed 36 hrs. before but had not yet driven.

Any ideas as to the cause?

Don't worry. In fact, your phantom route startup is a new one to me and maybe everyone else. The nuvi 855 definitely has issues not seen with other models, probably due to it being one the first series of nuvis that don't turn off unless the battery is removed.

Sounds to me like it never was turned off after route entered

I had both an 855 and a 885T and sometimes indoors it took quite a bit of time to lock on to the sats if it had not been used for a while.

Sounds to me like it never was turned off after you entered the route and it took it quite a while where it was located indoors to be able to find and then lock on to the sats. After it finally was able to lock on it announced that it was ready to navigate.

If you have the volume boost file and your garmin spoke out the route.....it would have scared the living crap out of me.
