I am ultra new to this aspect of owning a GPS and am super excited about he possibilities.
A question I have is this. When you have established point "B" of your trip by whatever means, you have a designated roadway speed limit along with your actual speed. If you exceed the posted speed limit the actual speed numbers turn red instead of black.
What I would like it to do is have the device sound a tone when the actual speed limit is exceeded and turns red.
Is there any ways of doing this and if so..........how?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I am very interested in trading the 3790LTM for a Oregon 650t. My 3790 is in excellent condition. Pass the word.......it would be greatly appreciated.

What you want is a feature that would vary by specific model. If you don't have a users manual, most can be downloaded from the Magellan web site.

You can't set your 3790 to give an audible alert when you exceed the road speed limit, BUT you can have it give audible alerts for custom POIs. For example, I have a set of custom POIs for speed traps in my driving neighbourhood. The nuvi will "ding" if I'm going over the limit for the particular trap.
See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/9251 for details.
