They are just saying that so we will blame the sun instead of LightSquare for interference problems later this year
FCC is supposed to issue LightSquared its license on June 15th at which point they can proceed with their build out. 28 days and counting...

Actually the new system is a replacement for EMP nuclear bombs. The purported usage is just a cover story. Once in place around the world, all electronics in any given area can be completely destroyed with a flick of a switch.

"Growing Threat from Solar Storms"?
Kind of a misnomer....
The storms have always been there. Nothing has changed in that regard. Seems funny to suddenly call something that has co-existed with the Earth and Mankind for milinia, "a threat".
But, it is fox news...everything is "a threat" to them. Even, it seems, the physical laws of the universe.
How about: "Growing Reliance on Technology Affected by Solar Storms".
I think that frames the issue more properly.
You can't fix a problem unless you state it correctly.
The Fear factor
Keep people afraid, and ignorant and they are easier to rule. Besides, fear sells stuff, right?
