I sure wish I could help. But the only time I bring the car in, is for body repair. If I can't fix it, I sell it and move on to another car. I will post it here, but if you live in the area, and the insurance company cuts you a check, bring the car here for repairs. He normally does it for 1/2 what the other shops estimates are.

When we moved to Louisville KY 16 years ago, this garage came highly recommended. It has since changed owners with the original owner retiring, but the same high quality of service has continued. Before I moved to AZ, my wife and I always took our vehicles to the one of the local Midas Muffler shops. The owner, Mark, is the most honest person there is. If asked, he will tell you if a reapir is worth doing or if it's better doing something else. I had an old truck that was leaking fluids from 3 spots. After inspection, he told me to not get it fixed, but to keep putting fluids in it and it would run a long time.

We updated the file as of 11/19/07.. It now has 85 entries in place.. We still want to hit the 100 mark before the End of year. So come on.. add your favorte place.. Would be nice to get at least 1 or 2 entries from each state..

This is a great project. I have been experimenting with it in my Crossover and it works great. There are a couple of limitations however. It's a big continent and I'm trying to customize some POI files for my particular travel areas, so I may want all of the east half but none of CA for example. To accomplish this I use the sort functions on Excel before using my POI editor to load them. It would be extremely useful in this aspect if csv files followed a standard format, i.e. Long, Lat, Name, Address, City, State, etc. That way they are easy to sort and manipulate in a spread sheet to meet your personal requirements BEFORE slapping them into your GPS. Not sure how other makes handle the info in this forums csv but the Mag handles the info just fine and I put it onto the SD card to keep as much of the internal memory free as possible. I have 'cleaned' up the current posted csv file to a standardized format as above and will post it if anyone is interested.

I've found that they are pretty good/nice people and won't rip you off or make you get repairs that you don't need. I've gone to them for a few years and feel comfortable with them. I should mention that they are in no way 'cheap' just reliable.

I do try to keep this csv file in a certain format.. The long and lat MUST come first, Then the address, after that is a phone # if provided and a short discription from the user that left me the info.. At the end I put in a "Summited By: ..." so that the person gets the proper credit for the entry.. This project is for ALL POI users and not just mine.. I am just the holder of it and am responsibe for the updates that people like you give me.. I am counting on all POI-Factory users and no where else to get this data.. I can very easy do a search for the "Best of" but then it wouldn't be good data.. I am counting on all of the POI-Factory users to give me this info.. I may find the cord. from the addresses but that it..

Mark and Pat run their late father's service station with the same family and value oriented business model that Leon lived and breathed. Not the cheapest place (but not close to being the most expensive either) but they are reliable and dedicated. They helped me many times as a student with a flat tire or emergency repair to get me to school or work on time. Not open weekends but a top notch place. My family drives in from Houston to have the Sevcik's perform their non-emergency work.
