I am curious as to why you need to include a new subject title for each post here at the factory. If you are following along on a particular thread about the same subject why the need to add a new subject for each post?
Yes, I've Wondered That Myself
It's funny, I've wondered that myself and I've posting on internet forums for close to 11 years now. This is the first time I've seen that.

It is what it is... thus, sometimes I use ~ or ` as a subject.

Forum Software
I'd guess it's just an idiosyncrasy of the forum software being used.

Only when you're quoting someone, as I did with you, do you actually need to fill in the subject field. If you're just replying, leave the subject field blank and Drupal fills in the field with a portion of your first sentence.

OK, it's still odd though, I've been on the net posting to forums since Al Gore invented the thing, never ran into this before.
I didn't notice the difference, quoting/replying, just knew it wouldn't post without a subject for me a couple times.

If you do a search for "Drupal" using the box at the top of the page, there are numerous links that give hints at some of the benefits and limitations of using Drupal software.

Never thought about it much since I don't play around on too many sites. Just think of it as another way to expand on your creativity.

Not under my skin, just never saw a site require it before and wanted to know why. Now I know, it's a software thing not a site owner thing, skin scratched.

I usually just reply, then copy & paste some of the reply into the subject box. Was a bit annoying at first, but now I like it because you can usually get the drift of the reply by the subject line.

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.
First Noticed This When Quoting
soberbyker--I first noticed this issue when I went to quote a post as well. By the way as far as the "under my skin" I didn't mean to imply it was getting under yours. I was just trying to make a point that for me it was really not that big of deal in relation to the value of this site.

In my opinion whoever wrote the code had that part backwards, when you quote someone is when it should plug their subject line into your post.
Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
