Garmin Vehicle bundles

I've got an issue I can't seem to find an answer to browsing the forums. Question....Do the vehicles have to be on the garmin devise itself to work? I't seem I'm out of room. I've added all the vehicles to my SD card but my unit doen't seem to find them. It only shows the 8 or 10 I've got on the devise itself. I have a Nuvi260W. I simply unziped the file and copied them to the sd card. Anyone have a clue what i did wrong?

I think...

I think I've read (probably from a reliable source like Motorcycle Mama or I wouldn't have remembered it) that vehicles must be installed to the GPS memory and will not run if installed to a SD card.

MM or others, correct me if I'm wrong.

Grrrrrrrrrrr. Not what I wanted to hear...but was expecting. I then wonder why such limited space on the unit. I aslo wonder why the offer bundles if they most likely won't fit in the device to use?

Vehicles on Garmin Only

I too have read that the vehicles can only be used from the Garmin unit itself. You can create a duplicate directory on you SD card and move some of the unused vehicles there.

You can free more memory in the Garmin by deleting unused voices, languages, etc.

If you have any pictures you can move them to the SD card in a duplicate named folder too.

Assuming your last sentence was meant to be ended with a ? instead of a !, the purpose of that thread was how to make room for map updates. But making room is making room and it'll also make room for additional vehicles or whatever. So after making room, you should be able to install your vehicles to the Garmin's memory.

I too had this same problem. I did as suggested above.
