Is your problem with downloading POI Loader? Or installing it?

Or have you installed POI Loader and you can't get POI files downloaded from POI Factory to use with POI Loader?

Are you PC or Mac? What browser are you using?

I just downloaded the POI

I just downloaded the POI Loader the other day. I had no problems what so ever on my Mac. Everything worked like a charm and I uploaded the red lighter camera alert from here.

I'm not the most computer/tech minded person, but I had no problems at all.

Just downloaded POI Loader

Just downloaded POI Loader 261 no problems here.

still can't download poi downloader

Thanks for the answers, using Sony pc, XP Desktop,(bought it in 2004) with windows 8.
Really can't install the poi downloader.
Think I may have to reverse the process, download the poi rest stops, and then download the poi downloader, than try to install it onto my computer, into the same folder, then into the Street Pilot. It keeps telling me that the folder is invalid and that it doesn't have a cvs or gpx file in it. C drive is half empty, also have 2 exturnal hard drives, and can't install it in to any.
Will be out of town until after the 7th. Will answer anyone then. Will hold up doing anything until I get babk.
Thanks again.

Try saving to your desktop

Instead of installing the loader into a folder, install it on your desktop and run it from there.

Think that did it.

Downloaded the rest areas into folder onto desktop, then went to garman site and downloaded the poi loader in to the same folder. Then connected the Street Pilot to the computer, right clicked on the folder and sent it to the GPS. Don't know when I'll take a trip to find out if it worked. Maybe when a Hurricane comes this way.
Thanks for all the help.

Lingo

I think there's some confusion with 'lingo' here. The POI loader is resident on your PC and takes CSV files and GPX files that are in a particular location "Your POI folder" and formats it for installation TO YOUR GPS device. The POI loader does its work in your PC and then takes the files after formatting and sends them to your GPS device. Your wording almost sounded like you are under the impression the POI loader gets sent to the GPS along with your POI data. Or maybe I'm screwed up.

Once you've 'correctly' transferred POI's to your GPS you don't have to wait for a hurricane to see if they are there and working. You can go to those categories and check things out immediately after the POI Loader has finished and the GPS has rebooted.

Same impression here

You need to install the POI loader, connect the GPS to the computer, run poi loader and point it to the folder that has your poi's in it. POI loader will create a file and place it on the GPS.
