Great Commercial

I saw it yesterday during the BCS Championship game. It made me think of POI Factory too. We who know about this wonderful resource know that could never happen to us!!! hahaha

reliance in technology--

I knew a character who misread a chart and only missed the harbor entrance by a few hundred yards... Don't remember if his insurance paid anything on his boat... That was decades ago.

Reliance in technology can't replace self-reliance.

Last night I was watching the new TV show Flying Wild Alaska on Discovery Channel and they had a guy trying to land a plane while delivering 600 gallons of fuel on board and because of cloud cover and flying VFR he had no idea where he was, almost landed at the wrong airfield, had he brought along a $99 eTrex he would have known before having to abort at the last minute.

Gotta Luv It

There are actually a few commercials I like a bit

It's funny, but also so true...

It does not make me want to buy insurance from that company but....

The points are...

1. DO update your map regularly. Buying a "life time map update" is a great deal compare to increased insurance premium.

2. DO NOT trust the GPS too much. It's only a "driving aid", and it's for reference only. Don't let a machine take over your life, make your own decision.

Common sense

Point #2 well taken. It does seem that common sense has gone the way of the dinosaurs.

.

I personally believe that people should have to pass an apptitude (as opposed to basic skills) test before being granted the priviledge of driving.
