Rest Areas

What is the best way to put the "combined" rest areas on my Nuvi 350 ?

I'm in the same boat, was hopeful the wife would pick up on the clues, but alas no luck...

New one for Christmas

My wife bought a 255W on sale, for our son to use since he just started driving this year. I also replaced the failing batteries in my n750 and my wife's c580 - good as new.

Now if I can get the map update on Garmin to work, it seems like Garmin support website has been down or running flakey the last two days....

Nuvi 1490LMT and Oregon 450

I picked up an Oregon 450 to replace my 200 for Geocaching and a Nuvi 1490LMT for quicker response time while navigating to the cache. The Oregon 200 is very slow and I usually am passing the street it prompts me to turn at.

Got a 1490LMT...

...and will try registering and updating tomorrow; looks like the Garmin site is maxed out with all the GPS's that were opened today. Meanwhile, I'm reading all the advice and suggestions I can here (and at another site) for newbies.

My new One

I musta been good...

Garmin for Christmas

I got my husband a 1490lmt for Christmas. We especially like the Elf Voice that Garmin made available to download this season. Lots of cute little sayings as you are driving.

my uncle got a new tom tom xl-somethin

im not a fan of tomtom maybe cus ive been spoiled with nuvis.. but he's got lifetime map and traffic. and its got a nice interface and all.. clean look, 4.3 screen. he gave his older tom-toms to his kids.

i want to just buy the lifetime maps but my 765t is already a discontinued product and im not so sure about getting stuff for something thats now OBSOLETE.

Everyday is a GREAT day :)

Not directly

Used a couple Amazon Christmas gift certificates from my kids to buy a Nuvi 1490LMT. Should be delivered this Friday.
Got a new cellphone for Christmas with Bluetooth capability - now to pair them up when I receive the GPS.
Got a trip to New Orleans scheduled for early February and then about a 5500 mile trip to the Canadian Maritimes in May-June. Then a 4500 mile trip to AZ in November. Will keep the new GPS BZ this year.

1450LMT Here

Adds to my Nuvi 660, which will be transferred to my other car. I think my 660 (AKA Karen) has been showing signs of early onset forgetfulness.

I got it for Christmas, but

I got it for Christmas, but I started using my 1490T early. We bought it at Costco for $169 that included an instant rebate. I really wanted the lifetime maps but I also wanted the ability to return it if i was not happy - and Costco is one of the few places that will do that (and for 90 days) - so I skipped the deals I saw on the 1490LMT and got the 1490T.

Didn't get one

I didn't get a new GPS. Wife says the one I got is good enough.

Now if every member at POI sent me just one $ I might be able to get a new 1490LMT

Have a Happy New Year.

With over 250,000 registered you would definitely have enough to buy a 1490 - and enough shares in the company to have a voice at a stockholder's meeting telling them to fix what's wrong rather than pushing new units out the door.

Do smartphones with GPS's count? :D

If smartphones with GPS enabled count, I did get a new T-Mobile G2 (aka HTC Vision/HTC Desire Z)--the GPS on it works VERY well with Google Maps and CoPilot 8 (which was all of five bucks in the Android Market, so why not).

The fact that CoPilot 8 plays VERY nicely with .ov2 files from POIFactory is just gravy here; the G2 also pretty much does other stuff I want it to do and can be pretty much used as a "multiple personality" GPS in addition to the phone and internet capabilities. (If I'm geocache hunting, I can use the geocaching.com tool; if I'm walking about in a city and wanting to know how to go from point A to point B via public transportation, Google Maps is excellent for this; for long road trips, CoPilot is the best tool.)

Upgrade?...I would.

I would add the lifetime maps to that old 765...I did for my 780. These "old" obsolete units are superior in so many ways to the new offerings that I think it is wise to keep them going.

new NUVI 295W

Still figuring it out! I think I will like it better than my old NUVI 350.

New a new mico SD card evil

I have seen the future and it is now!

A Skycaddie counts right?

Well, it IS a GPS and I got it for Christmas. The hard part is that it will be 2 months before I can get it out to a golf course.

I got a nuvi 755t.

nope...

but I guess that's what dreams are fore smile

Not me

I even gave one away. My 760 to my daughter to replace her Tom Tom.

First Time GPS owner

We received a Nuvi 1350 as a first time GPS owner. It seems to have the basics, which is all we really need. Will be testing it out on a cross country road trip in mid Jan 2011.

New Christmas Zumo 660

Got the Zumo 660 and been playing with it since I opened the box. Works great in the car so far, locks in quick. Already wired the Harley for it also but alas, I have to wait for the snow to melt to use it on the bike.

Bought my wife the nuvi 765WT earlier this year because she was going to be doing more driving to places she hasn't been before. She loves driving with it though she doesn't bring it in and play with it when home. She uses it out of the box. I did get her lifetime maps and I handle the updates on it.

My daughter started driving 6 months ago and I bought her the same nuvi 765WT because I wasn't sure she would be able to find home again when she left. For 16 years she never looked out the window when we would go places. Weel, she goes like crazy with that thing in her car. She hasn't a clue where she is and if it ever breaks, she'll never get home. She can't find her home town on a map. Lifetime maps for her to.

I just have to get my lifetime maps next.

Got my wife a Garmin 1390LMT -- lifetime maps. Worth the 4 hour wait to update (during the 12/26 blizzard, when everyone else was trying to update maps!)

Christmas Gift

Santa brought me a new Oregon 550 with 24k topo maps, Birdseye Satellite Imagery, and even had 4 of those new CHIRP geocaching beacons in the stocking! Good timing too, I almost was going to sell my trusty Colorado 400t to get one on my own.

Garmin 3760T

I wasn't that good, but I sure was lucky! She'll be inheriting my Nuvi 660, so everybody wins!

Got a 1490LTM to go along
