Nuvi 1490T map and software upgrades

My wife and I both have a Nuvi 1490T. I just did the 2011.3 map upgrade plus new software on both. On mine it worked fine. On hers it did the upgrades but deleted all her favorites (and default added 3 Garmin office locations...thanks for nothing!) What did I do wrong? It also defaulted the screen settings, the trafic icon, and a few other things back to factory specs. Only difference in the downloads is that on hers a pop up said the firmware update failed and go to another web site to do it again. I did.
