tomtom model to replace garmins

I've been playing with the tomtom go 2505 and i think it's good enough to dump my garmins.
It has a 4 or 5 inch glass screen(depending which model you buy), new menus, brighter display in daylight, lifetime traffic and maps, and it has something that it didn't have before; it tells you which side of the street for the destination. One thing I have complain on my Garmin was the road avoidance feature and I love the feature on the 2505.
So far I like this better than my Nuvi 1490. Being a new model I have not gotten the Google route send to work and the Tomtom Home is now web based.

Before you buy the tom tom look at the Garmin Nulink 1695.

I did look at the 1695 but

I did look at the 1695 but it didn't have a glass screen and i cant avoid roads on the route.

What kind of screens do Garmins have and why is glass so important?

Nuvi 1450 Newbe When you see a fork in the road, Take it!

I Love My TT

I think that TomTom makes the best GPS. I have two of them and they work perfectly. You can really customize them to your needs.

My biggest regret isn't

My biggest regret isn't buying my Garmin... LOVE them. My biggest regret is buying GRMN stock!! I bought in at over $60 a share... now... $31.17. Guess it's the lack of glass screens smile

Well after finding out a few things and the price difference I might go with the Tom Tom 2505, want to know if you can do multi routes in another words put in several routes at a time or way points.

RE: Multiple Routes

Yes, you can. TomTom calls them "Itineraries".

Funny I talked to two reps from Tom Tom and they said I couldn't do this, they said they even checked the unit itself.I want to make sure before I purchase one of these units, because this unit is like the Garmin Nulkink 1695 I wanted but a much better price $319.00 vs $449.00.My sister is in the real estate business and she needs a unit she can put several addresses on the unit and go from place to place with out having to put in the next one after finishing the last one, does it route automaticly (SP) to the next nearest location. Thanks

glass screen

The new Go devices use glass touchscreens with "pinch and swipe" interactivity, much like an Apple iPhone.

I did a little research and found that for now, the GO 2405 and 2505 apparently do not have the ability to upload POIs or plan itineraries. Supposedly, both capabilities are coming in 2011. I'm not sure why TomTom did that, the other GO units can do itineraries.

Thanks for the reply,I think they should have put it in with the unit, but only they know what they are thinking.I called and talked to a 3rd rep of TomTom and he wasn't sure why they hadn't put itineraries.
