nuvi 2x5W (GCD File) software version 6.90

Changes made from version 6.60 to 6.90:
Added support for Loc8 functionality
Corrected arrival times when crossing time zone boundaries
Improved responsiveness of keyboard when typing
Corrected an issue with displaying Slovenia traffic subscriptions
Corrected an issue with searching for some cities
Corrected an issue with searching for POIs along current route

Still has the continous voice update

My 265WT still suffers from the continous voice update issue after updating to ver 6.90.

Just tried it.Still problem with continuos voice update.Was told from Garmin this was on the list as a fix according to email I got back.

Fixed the Double City Bug for Canada

A bug was introduced some time ago that caused Canadian city names to display twice when searching for cities or addresses. That is fixed. Woo Hoo!

Doesn't look like Added support for Loc8 functionality will do anything for us in the USA or Canada but I sure like the idea.

When you run webupdater and

When you run webupdater and update the voice on the second screen.It should remove it from the list.What is happenin now is when you do the voice update for example Samantha.When you run webupdater again the same update will show for Samantha.

Thank you charlesd45, When I use web updater and it showed updates for some voices, I always assumed they were legitimate updates. I didn't know they where not really needed to be updated. My unit may also have that problem too.

Unless you remember the last

Unless you remember the last update or check you unit for the update you currently have it gets confusing after a little time goes by.I use Turbocccs voice editor and have changed some of the voice commands.Don't want to have to go back and change commands unless necessary.

Slightly off topic but without having my nuvi connected to a computer, how do I know what the latest version of the software is? I have a nuvi 3790T and I'm waiting for a new software update to fix all the bugs.

Try Tools -> Settings -> System -> About
Software version is on the top left.
That's the way it works on my Nuvi 255 anyway.

Just got this email back from Garmin after sending them a follow up email.Note another update 7.0 just came out but doubt if it fixes this problem.

Thank you for reporting this error you have seen. It is being examined by our Software team, and they are currently working on a fix for this issue.

Applied 7.0 to the roomie's

Applied 7.0 to the roomie's unit last night. Doesn't fix the continuous update problem, and the only change is that the firmware now supports Hebrew.
