765T Battery Life

I've had my 765T since they came out (nearly two years now). I went through all the software issues. They replaced mine three times during all that early on. Overall now that the software is straightened out I'm really happy with all but one aspect. If I try to use it on the battery it shuts down in 30 to 45 minutes. That has been my experience with all three units when I had them. Without 12 volt power it's basically useless.

We are going back east on vacation soon and pedestrian mode would be great but with 30 minutes of battery life. I might as well carry a rock in my pocket. Anybody have any ideas out there?

Live with it, same problem here. Rumor has it one can carry an external battery around with it. Not sure if that's a feasible idea

30 to 45 minutes

seems pretty short. My 755T with a 2 year old battery will still go about 1.5 hours with full screen brightness on a fully charged battery. So it may be time for you to replace the battery.

That said, when using in pedestrian mode, you can extend the battery life by lowering the brightness to 0 when you do not need to look at the display, but need to keep it on (for voice prompts, etc.) Shut it down when you are in situations where you will not be needing it (inside buildings, etc.), then restart it when you need it again. Depending on the kind of activity I am doing, I have been able to keep my 755T going for 6 or more hours using these techniques.
