"Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), the global leader in satellite navigation, today announced chirp, a unique wireless beacon designed specifically for the outdoor adventures of geocaching. Affordable, durable and waterproof, chirp can communicate with, and be programmed by, any compatible wireless-enabled Garmin handheld for a more interactive and enjoyable geocaching experience. Cache creators and seekers alike will enjoy the benefits as chirp stores hints, transmits multicache coordinates, counts visitors and confirms the cache is nearby."

I'm thinking it might be handy to attach to my keyring...heh. (edit: Note, range is only 30 feet, so if you're going to lose your keys, lose them in your house.)

Pretty Expensive Key Fob

The way I read this review, http://www.gpsfix.net/garmin-chirp-review/, unless you misplace your keyring out in the open, you're going to have to be just about right on top of it before the Chirp chirps.

Also, though I don't own one, it's disappointing to see that these gizmos won't work with the Colorado series.
