That is a good deal.I paid 249 for mine on a Black Friday sale not long after the model came out .Have been very happy with the 265 WT.It has racked up lots of miles on our cross country trips.

$129.99 is pretty much the standard price for this unit at Amazon (though like everything there the price will occasionally rise or fall a few dollars), plus free shipping and no sales tax collected.

Yikes, I didn't realize the price had fallen so low for a new unit. That's a smokin' deal and an even better deal when you have a $25 coupon for Staples on your desk at work

and they were more than happy to accomodate my "online/telephone order only" coupon. I ended up at 129.99 less 25.00 plus local tax. I could not resist and find the display on the 265 that much better than my 760.

The cost of the 265WT on the cited URL isn't $129 anymore; it's $219. Looks like that window of opportunity didn't stay open very long.

We purchased the 265wt last year during Black Friday weekend at HH Gregg for $149 and have been very pleased with the unit. Current there are some good prices for this unit on Amazon.

How fast does it lock onto a signal when it has not been used for a bit?

It locks on much faster than any of my other Garmins. Sometimes the lock is almost instant after being turned off for a day or two, other times it's not so rapid. I don't know why there is such variance, but it is superior to other units I've tried.

Was the $129.99 price at Staples a promotional deal for that week??

It depends on where you were at when you turned the unit back on. I usually see a delay of 30 seconds when I turn in on remote from where I last had it on.

Just saw it yesterday in a Staples at the same sale price. One thing I'm wondering about and no one seems to be discussing here, is the "Lifetime traffic" the MSN traffic that is getting turned off at the end of 2011, or is it an alternative service that might have a longer lifetime?

Per Garmin website, the traffic info is provided by FM Traffic.

Alternative to MSN traffic could be TMC traffic...

TMC = Traffic Message Channel

Unless you live in New York State where we have the "Amazon Tax" (that is what the state government called it). Buy.com and Amazon.com collect sales tax on New York purchases even though they themselves do not have a physical presence in New York. They are required count affiliates as a presence in this state for taxing purposes. It was challenged in state court and (SURPRISE) was upheld by the state courts.

I don't know of a company called FM traffic, isn't that just traffic information delivered by FM subcarrier? Could still be MSN, could be an alternate provider. I expect it is an alternate provider, but if I wanted this GPS and one of the features that I wanted was the traffic service, I sure would want to know which service provider was supplying the "Lifetime traffic".
