Good deal but....

Sound like a good deal.

Some low end Garmin units like 1300T now included free lifetime Garmin map update which is a card with activation code. It could be a second choice since the whole unit sell for around $200 and you got extra unit for $130. You can use the code come with the package for any other unit.

Low End..? Why So..?

Why do you consider the 1300 "Low End"? confused

I just went to the Garmin site and checked the cost of all their units and found 21 of their present units cost less than what I paid ($239 on sale), for my Nuvi 1300WT a year or so ago.

So once again I ask the question.. "why"?

Garmin Lifetime update

Good Deal

The price on lifetime maps has really dropped. How much lower can they go?

Not much, I'd think

Consumer confidence has dropped sharply, which is why it's so cheap. Buy it now, and enjoy.

wow

What a great price!

Any problems loading these map updates ??????

After reading your note, I went to the link and checked out Amazon. I really liked what I saw and was ready to buy until I started to read user comments on the Amazon web site. It looks like a lot of people have had a lot of problems loading the map updates to their GPS.

Did you or anyone else out there on POIFACTORY have any problems loading these updates? This group usually has the answers to my questions so if the group of GPS users think this product works OK, then I'll order it for myself too.

Looking forward to your replies.

Not any more

Amazon had an amazingly low price, probably never to be repeated, for the update for a couple days once in the past year or more and many folks bought then, but there was a problem between Amazon and Garmin, I guess, that befuddled buyers for a few days preventing installation. I imagine that if you check the dates of the buyers giving low-scored customer reviews, they'll mostly come from this period.

As long as you follow the directions and have a broadband internet connection, you should have no problem. You may want to read these threads for some help before using your lifetime subscription for the first time:

Also, although it's odd, Amazon generally sells the "credit card" mailed lifetime update with free S&H for less than they sell the "online code" version, which has no S&H fees for them. But it's always a good idea when buying the lifetime numaps update from Amazon to check both the mailed and online items for the lowest price.
