I'm planning for a trip to Vancouver BC at the end of this year. I may bring a 3G iPad with me if the 3G connection (or data connection) works in Canada.
Has anyone done this before? Does iPad AT&T data plan work in Canada? Will there be extra (roaming) charge? If it doesn't work there, will I be able to purchase an affordable prepaid 3G broadband SIM card and pop it in my iPad? I know I may have to resize the SIM card (down to microSIM) so it'll fit in the iPad.
.
You may want to check AT&T's roaming data package. Barring that, you can buy a Rogers prepaid micro-sim for $10.
I take it the iPad is not provider locked?

Thanks Juggernaut. I've
Thanks Juggernaut. I've checked AT&T international data plan. It's expensive so that's out of the question.
No, the iPads sold in the US are not carrier locked. Can I buy Rogers prepaid microSIM online? Does $10 include internet access or is that just for the microSIM? I just need an affordable mobile internet access when I'm in Vancouver.
.
The $10 is just for the micro sim.

Online? Hmmm, not sure, but any Rogers store should have one.
Consider WiFi as well. Free!

Thanks for the link. Sure
Thanks for the link. Sure WiFi is an option but it's more convenient to have it with me anywhere I go. Technically if I buy Rogers microSIM (for iPhone 4) and insert it in my iPad (assuming that it is compatible), I should be able to activate the iPad plans with Rogers.

With the correct data plan, absolutely!
