What graphics? Do you mean the lines that represent roads?

yes the roads if you want to put it that way.

I don't think they do any changes in graphics. I did already couple updates of NA and European maps and they look this same to me. Unless you install topo maps it will look like simplified map, so when driving you will not be overwhelmed with details but have clearly readable map. That's why there is not too much details and roads are displayed prominently.

No, the graphics weren't updated, just the map data. However, you can set the level of map detail: go to tools> settings> map, then select "high" from the "Map Detail" button.

This will add detail to the maps in that more street information is presented but I'm not sure that anything improves graphically. The improvement slows map redraw a bit but not enough for me to lower the quality.
