Add additional POI's

Is it possible to add additional POI's after the first one is added with the POI Loader? It seems like I have to start over each time. I have sub-categories a batch file would not work. Am I missing something? Thanks!

You have to run poiloader

You have to run poiloader each time unless you use the rename method.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/16639

2 ways to do this

There are a couple of ways to do this, but you need to remember POI Loader overwrites any existing poi.gpi file each time it is run.

The first method to creating categories is to use subfolders in the input folder. Group all the like files into a subfolder. The subfolder name is the name used for the category. You run POI Loader against the top level folder and the subfolders are created in the output poi.gpi file.

The second method is to run POI Loader using the category files as the input. You then open the folder where the output file is and rename that file leaving the gpi extension. You do this for each folder.

Is this what you wanted to know?

Add another POI

Thanks for the replies. It would be nice if "add another file" was part of the POI Loader instead of having to start over for each one. Not a big deal but a hassle sometimes. Thanks again for your replies. This site is great!

Technically Speaking...

Technically speaking, you have to run poiloader each time period.

You do so with your entire inventory of files each time unless you use the rename method in which case you only need do so with the new poi files you're adding.

I'm just mentioning that lest someone think they can just drag and drop new poi files using the rename method.
