Transfer Route from MapSource to Nuvi 1450

Hi,
I finally purchased my 1st routable GPS so I created a route in MapSource 6.16.1 (as well as a earlier version). When I transfer my route to my GPS choosing waypoints and routes, only the waypoints are transferred. I can manually create a route with the waypoints but wonder why I cannot achieve the correct result with what seems to be a simple process. The GPS has the latest firmware and my free update to 2011.10 is being used by MapSource.
If I can get this to work, then I can delete the unneeded waypoints.

Are you doing the "Import route from file" step after you the transfer from Mapsource? You will find it on Tools - My Data.
