Mapsource file won't open

I have been working with a POI I am making for my vacation and now it won't open.
I am using Mapsource. The file starts to load and then mapsource stops working. I tried another file and it opened ok.

I tried Extra_POI Editor and the file won't open in it either.

The last time I was able to open the file I noticed the comment lines had hundreds of returns between each line. I was trying to delete these lines when it stopped working.

Does anyone know how I can save my file, or should I just start over.

Also, does anyone know why there are so many blank lines.

Thanks so much

file problems

What are you using to create the file? Sounds as if it is a text editor or a word processor that is embedding format information.

Similar problem

I had a similar problem in the past when I was editing a .csv file. I think I was using an older version of EPE and had been working for a long time without saving my work (Murphy's Law). A big chunk in the middle of the file was filled with thousands of ######. I looked at it with Excel, figured out which line this started with and deleted it down to where it was good again, making sure I had only 4 columns. I then compared it to my backed up file to figure out what points were missing. It turned out to only be the one where the fault started. It was an easy fix, but I had a backup to compare with.

I am creating them in Mapsoursc and saving to GPX. I make the waypoints then view them in google earth to see if each POI is in the correct spot.
I can open it in Excel but it ask for all kinds of things before it opens and I don't know what to say and when the file opens it has a lot of stuff I don't know what is.

No Backup

I save my file quite often but have never made backup files while I am working on them. I will do that from now on.

It just showes you that there are great people on the POI-Factory.

Blank lines in Mapsource comments

Back to another part of my question:
Does anyone know why there are blank lines in my comments using Mapsource? The information I type is there but there are many blank lines inbetween each line of my information.
