2011.10 map unlock keys missing on myGarmin? Try this

I've noticed on the 2011.10 update, they moved them to the .xml file on the 775T. Lot's of new info in it as well it seems.

Check your rig, and see.

Well, I'm sure it has to do wiht the new unlocking copy protection scheme Garmin is instituting.

They are burying codes and encrypting some to make it harder to hack them.

If you're legit, you may not ever notice.

BUT... me thinks that this is either causing or is going to cause more freezes and other firmware related problems.

As if Garmin didn't already have enough software and firmware related problems.

I guess it's something else the consumer is going to have to Beta test for Garmin.

You may be right about the hacking maps, etc. Hopefully, this won't mess the units up, but I plan to be cautious about the FW updates I do.

It may be an odd thing to say, but I want to back up my 3.90 FW to cover my a**! cool
