At 9:03 we heard the very distinct sonic boom from the Space Shuttle as it passed over central FL on it's way to Canaveral.

pc troubles
I am glad to be back on the boards. My PC caught a virus. I supposed I could have fixed it, but it was taking a long time. Since I am on call at work and needed to be connected, I replaced the pc.
All of this occured just as I was replacing carpet in the house. Too much going on at one time.
Anyway, glad I am online again.

Debating on cutting the grass for the first time this spring, it could use a trim and edging. But once I start it will it will also, and it will be a summers worth of work. Deciding if I should wait till it really needs cut or just make it look better by giving it the once over.
Looking at Charlie's post above makes sense though!

I haven't been on for awhile, alot going on and will leave it at that. I have updated the Mom and Pop Buger Joints and looking forward to some new places. I have missed reading all the forums and have a lot of catching up to do so I better get started reading. Look for me to put my 2 cents worth in again. Glad to be back with you all.

Just flew back
from California.
My maximum airspeed was 517 mph this time. A tad slower than my last trip at 628 mph.
The Boeing I was on flew faster than the Airbus.

Possibly but...
Ground speed will differ widely depending on what the "jet streams" look like.
West coast to east coast transits can be an hour shorter than east to west in my experience. Depends on the air route and where the jet streams are on those days.
And different airframes are more fuel efficient at different altitudes and speeds. Weight changes, temperature, all are contributors.

Trip to New York City
I just came back from a trip to NY, and let me tell you those NewYorkers are so friendly! Everywhere I went, my GPS announces that there were cameras set up to take my picture, and every other minute, someone was honking at me and waving their fingers at me. I never know I had so many fans!!!
