Red Light Sky Cam (April 1)

Amazing technology but is it just another Cam Scam?

City councils across the nation are investigating buying into a multi-aperture satellite camera system that can reportedly monitor hundreds of intersections at a time.

It will use polarized filters to take oblique pictures of the driver, as well as of both front and rear license plates for downloading to earth-based computers for facial recognition against driver license picture databases.

This will presumably cut down on disputes over who was behind the wheel at the time, AND increase the number of covered intersections without having to install or maintain new camera equipment, for about half the price of equipping the whole city.

Bobdee check out Google

I think the poster is doing exactly what Google has done this morning. The banner for Google directs you to a banner that says "TOPEKA" with the same coloration and font as the regular Google. There is an explanation that Topeka, KS has now taken on the name Google and vice versa.
GMail is even better! Their header this morning is like the usual, except there are no vowels. Every word only contains consonants.

I don't know if I like the April Fool's thing from a site like Google. It makes me wonder about credibility. Maybe I am just getting too old.
I certainly hope my financial, banking and other professional sites don't decide to follow suite!

Forgot

Forgot it's April Fools Day. Thought someone had hacked Google grin

Of Course.

But I must say... I think it was a nice write-up.

I even stayed up late to get the right timestamp.

But I bet, if you hadn't been so quick to out me, it would have outraged at least one or two cam-haters.

wink

Maybe I'll score the Contributor Of-the Week Silly Humor Instant Traffic-cam Award?

If you enjoyed that, do a search for all their past April Fools Jokes. Some have been quite subtle and far slicker.
