Apparently this is not done automatically, but I'd like to be notified to new responses to a thread I have posted to but cannot find the setting or any info on this. It is not in the profile/account settings apparently. ...Thanks for your help.
There is no thread subscrbe button. When you post a comment to a thread you are automatically subcribed. Next time your return to the site click recent posts along top right side. When the page comes up, you will see two tabs, all recent posts and my recent posts. Click my recent posts, anyone posting to a thread will appear with quanity of new posts.
You can also click on unread post and it will show all the ones you haven't read. You can set it to only show the preference you want. You can hide topics you are not interested in. (if you have a garman and do not want anything about a tom tom then you can hide those post).
If you are logged on with username and password you can view your posts along with any new posts in the thread. If you are not logged on, this disappears.

From what I recently learned that is not true. You are not auto-subscribed to receive notifications via e-mail. You must just constantly check the tabs mentioned (Recent Posts or My Recent Posts, etc.).
Yes. phillyguy did not say anything about you getting an email notification. He stated that they will be added to your tabs which is how it works.
In my opinion..
Every other forum has an option to "subscribe" so you don't have to keep checking randomly, but just if and when you know there is a response.
"Subscribing" as used on all the forums I have been on means getting notices as it updates with new posts, not just having it listed under recent posts or your posts. All forums have those options and sorting too, but that is a different matter.
